There’s a young man, a young woman and the woman’s mother. The young woman discovers that her mother is a vampire. (In similar circumstances, I think my first question would be “And what does this make me?” but that questioned goes unasked and unanswered.)
The mother apologizes to her daughter for not being human, and for not telling her about it sooner. She just couldn’t do it, she was ashamed. These two have a conversation about Mom’s military training in her younger days. She also reveals that she was jealous when Lao refugees had more to eat than she did.
